A career in archaeology took me far from home for many years. When the chance to work in a hybrid role arose, my beloved Maya—a husky-wolf-shepherd mix—and I returned to London, ON. I quickly realized how much I had missed the bounty of southwest Ontario, with its incredible food and vibrant local artisanal scene. Maya also adored our trips to farmers' markets and restaurants, where she enjoyed meeting new friends on sunny patios. Sadly, after 14.5 years together, my sweet Maya crossed the rainbow bridge in 2022.
Baking "cookies" for Maya and her friends was a long-standing tradition. In her memory, Maya’s Dog Cookies was launched in early 2023 as a market-based artisan barkery. Now based in the Fraser Valley, BC, we continue to bake small-batch, ethically sourced biscuits—drawing from the region’s rich offerings of farm-fresh produce, forest-foraged ingredients, and sustainable fish from lakes and coastal waters. Rooted in community and sustainability, every batch is made with purpose. We hope your pup enjoys our treats as much as we love baking them for you.
